In 2020 the city of Lake Charles, Lousiana was the epicenter of two major hurricanes that both made landfall just six weeks apart. The massive flooding and 100 mph winds of both storms devastated the homes of residents in the area.
Seeing the opportunity to not only improve the circumstances of those hit hardest but to show Wayfair's commitment to helping everyone create a home they love, we launched a new content series called "Change Starts At Home".

Over the course of a few weeks, we rebuilt and fully furnished the homes of Ms. Martha Bergeron and The Gomez Family, with a little socially distanced help from our brand ambassador, Kelly Clarkson.
In just a few weeks the project garnered 242M earned impressions. A 142% increase over any preceding Wayfair PR project, giving us the green light to continue exploring similar concepts and grow our "Change Starts at Home" series.
